2 Cumbria Boys named in England Golf's Development Squad

We are delighted to announce that 2 members of our Boys squad have been selected for England Golf's North Region Development Squad for the 2025/26 season.

16 year old Bradley Quayle of Seascale GC & 17 year old Aidan Blythe of Brampton GC were announced in the North Region Squad when England Golf unveiled their selections this week.

Rebecca Wildey from Eden GC was also announced in the Girls Squad to make it a fine hat-trick for Cumbria.

The Regional Coaching Programme serves as a vital pathway, guiding talented young golfers from County Talent Programmes into the England Golf National Squads.

Designed to nurture the next generation of champions, the programme focuses on developing players capable of excelling at both national and international levels. Check out the list of players in the squads below.

England Golf Deputy Performance Director Steve Burnett said: “England Golf aims to support a strong, aligned and inclusive performance pathway from club to national level, in order to identify, recruit, develop, support and retain world-class golfers capable of performing and winning at the highest levels of amateur golf.

“The Regional Performance Programme is a vital part of the pathway and it bridges the gap for young players showing promise at county level to push on and improve sufficiently to go on and play for England in the near future.

“The Regional Squads have helped produce a large number of world-class male and female golfers while creating life-long affiliations with the game. At every level of the pathway we aim to provide fun, engaging and individualised opportunities to help the player as a person and a golfer.”
